Across Place and Time with Chad Richard, Co-owner and Executive Winemaker at Furthermore Wines

Please join the Acid and Tannins community at Furthermore Wines where co-owner and executive winemaker Chad Richard will personally share with us an intimate look at Pinot Noir Across Time and Place.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by Chad, as well as a festive welcome glass of 2019 Sonoma Coast Blanc De Noirs.

To start, we will sit down for a “Tasting Across Time.” During this tasting Chad will share how one highly acclaimed Gioia Vineyard, Sonoma Coast vertical produces wines that reflect their vintage and Ange as well as their sense of place. During this discussion, we will taste four vintages from this single vineyard, experiencing first-hand characteristic changes year over year.

From there, we will “Walk and Talk” as Chad discusses Sonoma County viticulture. He will also share how a small case production (5,000 cases) facility like Furthermore produces wines. This is a great opportunity to learn about this unique wine region as well as take in breathtaking views of the Russian River Valley from atop the ridge.

Our second wine tasting will take us on a journey down the coast as we experience a “Tasting Across Place.” During this tasting Chad will share how Pinot Noir expresses itself in coastal influenced California Vineyards. During this discussion, we will taste wine from the five different vineyards, exploring the unique characteristics and nuances that the regions and specific vineyards produce.
